Barbra Beeler is a fine artist based in Tampa, Florida. Her
current work is focused on the Polaroid 20" x 24" transfer
system. Only 3 of these giant view cameras are available for
artists' use: One each in NYC, San Francisco, and Prague, Czech
Republic. Reknown artists such as Anna Tomczak and William Wegman
make constant use of this system's unique properties
She also produces small edition Silver Gelatin prints, mixed-media
installation works, 4"x5" Polacolor Transfers, 8"x10"
Polaroids, and a few small color edition sof the 20x24 Polaroids.
Her work is focused on illuminating and illustrating "the
details."
Barbra prefers large format work for black and white, using
a SpeedGraphic 4x5 view camera or her trusty Mamiya C330 21/4 format camera. Much of her black &
white work is shot at night, and she uses an assortment of prized
cameras considered by some to be a little "old fashioned."
In addition to a great eye, and affinity for light and shadow,
she is an intense perfectionist in the darkroom, handprinting
all of her own B&W work.
